Service

My service includes service to the University and to my Profession through Community Activities.  Through the University, my largest service commitments are associated with my role as Associate Dean for Research, which focuses on managing the research process within the College of Engineering.  The most outwardly visible of my activities as Associate Dean include my work in coordinating the College’s Distinguished Speaker Series and my work in facilitating collaborations among faculty members through Collaborative Research Exchange Forums which include a preliminary workshop followed by a pilot project competition. In addition at the University I advise the student organization, Engineers Without Borders (EWB).  Professionally I am very involved with the Association of Cuban American Engineers (ACAE), serving as the President from 2012 to 2014.  I also served on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Study of the Cuban Economy (ASCE) and serving as Secretary from 2014 to 2016 and President from 2016 to 2018.  Some details are provided below.
